SELF-DEFENSE

The trend of self-defense training systems moving away from the codified traditions of martial arts as a way of life has led to a view of martial arts techniques primarily as a means of survival. Self-defense training has become focused on quickly developing skills for personal combat, with mindsets ranging from using brutal, potentially lethal tactics to incapacitate an attacker to employing techniques designed primarily for escape.

One of the first and greatest benefits we gain from practicing self-defense is that it is an eminently practical activity that requires coordinated physical work suited to each practitioner. It returns to the fundamental requirements of each technique, resulting in the development of skills aimed at optimizing the full potential of each practitioner in various aspects, such as aerobic conditioning, stretching, flexibility, agility, strength, and coordination.
